Our Mission
The mission of GO! Transportation is to provide safe, reliable transportation to nonprofit organizations serving young people in our community, increasing access to activities and services for all of our community’s youngest citizens.
Where We Started
GO! Transportation launched its pilot in March of 2023, designed by Youth Art Team staff with input from their young artists, who named transportation as a major barrier to participation in community programs. Their leadership - and more than a decade of experience transporting participants - shaped the vision and infrastructure of what would become GO! Transportation.
In just five months, with a single bus operated by local partner Dolly’s and the financial support of McElroy Trust and Guernsey Foundation, GO! provided over 800 door-to-door rides and coordinated nearly 200 routes for youth involved with Youth Art Team, Try Pie, and SHIPHT. Forty-five young people were transported to summer camps, leadership meetings, tech and arts programming, and more. For many, the GO! bus made participation possible!
